Job Description:

Software Engineer role in Developer Enablement group focused on innovation, developer platforms and internal tools used across the bank. The team aims to save engineers time and deliver significant savings at Citi's scale through various platforms including Release On Demand, SDLC Automation, Dev hub, and AI Tooling.

Job Responsibility:

Build developer platforms and internal tools used across the bank
Save engineers tens of minutes per day
Work on Release On Demand platform for production deployments
Contribute to SDLC Automation greenfield project
Develop Dev hub (Engineers homepage)
Work on AI Tooling team providing AI enhancements
Impact daily experience of tens of thousands of engineers

Requirements:

Strong front-end engineering skills: Typescript (JS), React, CSS, and data visualisation tools like d3.js
Strong product/design skills: Proficient in Figma, interaction design, component reuse
Evaluative user testing/interviewing
Comfortable taking part in either formal or informal user research
Ability to innovate: Excited to push the boundaries in design and engineering
Strong server-side engineering skills: Kotlin (Java 21), building and consuming RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming
Proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB
Experience with message queuing systems: Apache Kafka
SRE/DevOps – Experience with scalability & Observability
Deep understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Tekton and deployment automation platforms like Harness
Comfortable collaborating with product, design, and UI engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders
