Job Description

The Platform Engineering team at Appian serves as the core of our engineering ecosystem. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing highly scalable internal platforms and infrastructure that empower our product teams to deliver exceptional software. Operating from our rapidly expanding tech hub in Chennai, you will collaborate with global teams to ensure our systems are robust, automated, and equipped to handle extensive enterprise workloads.

Requirements

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related technical field
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or Go
  • Proven proficiency in Terraform (or equivalent IaC tools)
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (including deployment, troubleshooting, and scaling)
  • Solid experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools
  • Familiarity with modern observability tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, centralized logging, and metrics monitoring systems)
  • Good understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and troubleshooting skills across complex environments
