Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Software Engineer Manager. HSBC Technology China develops, implements, and supports software and IT services that allow HSBC to remain at the forefront of high-quality banking systems.

Job Responsibility:

Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers and developers specialized in Python, K8S, tooling automation and DevOps engineering
Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and budget & timeline requirements
Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed, and timely escalate major project risks & issues to senior managers
Manage expectations and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ensure the solution is reviewed and approved in the required governance forums, ensure FSA alignment is reviewed and embedded in the solution design
Ensure high availability, scalability, resiliency and security of service delivered by the team
Provide technical guidance and support to the team, ensuring best practices in coding, testing and deployment are followed
Lead the development and integration of AI models and algorithms into the newly setup AI service
Ensure the ethical use of AI and compliance with relevant regulations
Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the team remains competitive and innovative.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field
Proven experience in a leadership role within a technical environment
8+ years related experience in IT industry (Financial Service), particularly in Risk and Analytics areas
Excellent problem-solving skilss and the ability to think strategically
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Solid and proficient skills in public cloud (GCP/AWS/Ali) and programming language (Python/Java)
Proven experience on design and implement DevOps Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipleline
Experience on design and implement Kubernetes solution and relate cloud native tooling
Possess hand on project management with Agile – Scrum methodology discipline
Able to operate well across cultures and in multi-cultural, diverse work environments
Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills
Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and strong initiative
Good command of written and spoken English
Working experience in landing an AI solution / service to financial industry is a plus
Working experience in Risk and Analytics area is a plus.
