As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work directly with talented individuals of all levels. With guidance from a departmental leader you will work on the MyForms product. The right candidate for our internship will be expected to know commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Software Development process and rely on mentorship, instructions, and pre-established guidelines to perform the job's functions.

Requirements:
Ability to work full-time for 12 weeks during Summer 2025
program dates are May 18th – August 7th, 2026, OR June 15th – September 4th, 2026
potential to start early on May 4th, 2026
Academic studies that will lead to a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Software Engineering or any related field
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong object-oriented design and programming skills
Experience in Java, Python, or C#, targeting multiple platforms (e.g. Windows, Linux) and application types (e.g. console, website, REST APIs)
Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React) and web servers (e.g. Apache, Nginx, IIS)
Nice to have:
Strong experiences as demonstrated through projects, research or Software Engineering internships
Great interpersonal relations, team cooperation and communication skills
Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations

Experience developing serverless applications, using AWS Lambda, SNS, SQS, and S3
Experience with Git, Confluence, and JIRA
Experience working with, or an understanding of, NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB) and relational databases
Experience with test-driven development (TDD)
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
An understanding of 12-factor applications and cloud-native principles
Experience with various message brokering architectures (pub/sub-queues, request/response) and data streaming
AI, Machine Learning, and Data Engineering experience
Experience with Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS Lambda, or Amazon EC2
Experience working with and managing container development, deployment and operations on AWS, specifically with ECS or EKS
Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Junit, Nunit, Selenium, Playwright), and testing tools (e.g. JMeter, Postman, Cucumber)
