Job Description

This role broadly owns infrastructure across the stack. If it’s running in the cloud, you probably care about it. The life blood of robotics is data, and we need high scale infrastructure to manage, store, and process petabytes of this data. Our APIs, services, and monitoring systems depend on the infrastructure you’ll be managing.

Job Responsibility

  • Own infrastructure across the stack
  • Manage, store, and process petabytes of data
  • Manage the compute (both CPU and GPU compute) that’s required to cost effectively process petabytes of data at high throughput
  • Manage the infrastructure required to process and store petabytes of data
  • Maintain the security posture of our infrastructure and data

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience managing high scale cloud infrastructure via tools like Kubernetes, and Terraform
  • Strong familiarity with AWS services (or their cloud equivalents), and their permission models
  • Strong opinions on how to properly use coding agents in an infrastructure setting

  • Tune and optimize cloud services across compute, storage, networking, and observability to drive performance, reliability and maintainability of core services
  • Develop our core services, written in TypeScript, Kotlin and Go
  • Support large-scale systems with event driven architectures
  • Own problems end-to-end—from design through deployment to production support
  • Navigate ambiguity and help define how we build as much as what we build
  • Partner closely with other engineers, AI researchers and Security researchers to enable high-quality, high-velocity product development
