The Crowd Intelligence Platform (CIP) team, part of the MAI platform organization, is building an AI‑driven testing platform that ensures high quality for Microsoft AI products such as Bing, Copilot, MSN, and Edge, both pre‑release and in production. The platform leverages Agentic AI to enable scalable, intelligent testing across diverse product surfaces. We are looking for a Software Engineer II to help strengthen, scale, and evolve the agentic testing platform so it can reliably support a wide variety of MAI products. This role focuses on platform robustness, scalability, performance, and developer experience, with direct impact on how quickly teams can identify, debug, and fix issues.
Job Responsibility:
Build and enhance the core agentic testing platform, ensuring it is robust, reliable, and scalable across multiple MAI products
Develop new platform features and tooling that help users and product teams debug issues quickly and effectively
Improve platform efficiency and performance as a continuous effort, optimizing workflows, execution time, and resource usage
Partner closely with data scientists, product managers, and partner teams to translate testing needs into scalable engineering solutions
Contribute to end‑to‑end ownership of features, from design and implementation to deployment and production support
Ensure high engineering quality through clean design, testing, monitoring, and operational excellence
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience
4+ years of professional software engineering experience, building and shipping production systems
Solid proficiency in object‑oriented programming and system design
Experience building scalable backend systems, services, or platforms
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple teams
Nice to have:
Experience with distributed systems, cloud services, or platform engineering
Familiarity with AI/ML‑powered systems, agent‑based architectures, or workflow orchestration
Experience building developer‑facing tools or platforms that improve debugging and productivity
Solid interest in product quality, reliability, and automation
