Job Description:

A leading FinTech company is seeking an experienced backend engineer to join their team in downtown Vancouver. This company specializes in providing banks with embedded financial products and services, aiming to revolutionize the corporate banking experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • designing and implementing solutions to complex problems
  • taking ownership of projects
  • building accounting software integrations and plugins

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer
  • 4+ years working with Java 17 and above
  • 4+ years of experience with databases, including relational (Postgres) and non-relational (MongoDB)
  • Experience with Unit, Integration, and Performance testing
  • Experience integrating external APIs efficiently
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture
  • Knowledge of modern cloud technologies like AWS
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

Nice to have:

  • experience with observability tools (Honeycomb, Datadog)
