Job Description:

Come join us in the Azure Core Software-Defined Networking (SDN) team. SDN represents a key transformative technology that enabled the cloud computing industry through the virtualization of customer networks. We are hiring a Software Engineer II for our team where you can help build highly available, robust, performant, secure, and global solutions that enable our customers use to run mission-critical workloads on Azure. We drive innovation across Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure, pushing ever-growing scale and capabilities to support 200+ Microsoft services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox Live, and hundreds of thousands of Azure customers across 100+ datacenters running millions of servers and edge computing nodes all over the world.

Job Responsibility:

  • Creates and implements code following SOLID based practices with minimal supervision
  • Creates a clear test strategy that ensures solution quality
  • Contributes to code reviews to help improve code quality
  • Maintains operations of live site service, following security best practices when responding quickly to mitigate issues on a rotational, on-call basis
  • Provides feedback for proposals for architecture
  • Contributes to the identification of requirements for, and development of automation within production and deployment of a complex product feature
  • Works with appropriate internal stakeholders to understand and determine customer/user requirements for a set of features

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, OR Python
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience
