Job Description:

Bloomreach is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join our Scaling Intelligence team, responsible for hosting and serving thousands of indexes at the scale of tens of thousands of queries per second. In this role, you’ll work with a passionate, versatile, and collaborative team, improving system scalability by utilizing cloud technologies. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to influence and implement architectural solutions that will enable us to achieve our goal of being the world’s most trusted digital experience platform.

Job Responsibility:

Improve Bloomreach’s multi-tenant search infrastructure, in the aspects of automation, stability, elasticity, and cost efficiency
Develop tools, processes, and metrics to measure system performance, identify vulnerabilities, and maintain service availability
Make use of machine learning technology to assist with anomaly detection and analysis
Make use of machine learning technology to improve search relevance
Steward an extremely high bar of technical excellence for the company

Requirements:

BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields
3+ years of experience building enterprise software applications and systems in a corporate or startup engineering environment using Java or Python
3+ years experience working with AWS or GCP
Experience with developing and maintaining distributed systems at scale in a production environment is a must
Experience with multithreading is a must
Experience with containerization, Kubernetes is a must

Nice to have:

Experience with open-source search engines Lucene, Solr, and ElasticSearch is a plus
Experience with machine learning technology (familiar with embedding, vector db, model tuning) is a plus
