Software Engineer II

The Kernel Core team within the Core OS division work on the fundamental building blocks of the Windows kernel. The team works on allowing the scheduler to deliver great performance the scales down to client hybrid cores and all the way up to multi-socket server machines with hundreds of cores. We enable new security features such as protecting control flow with hardware stack protection. We also maintain and develop such components as the Windows registry, a variety of high performance synchronization primitives, and the Windows timers infrastructure. In Core OS, we are responsible for the Operating Systems that power Azure, Microsoft's Linux OS, the platforms for Windows Client and Xbox, and our Windows Server ecosystem – through all of these, we support every one of our cloud businesses and billions of customers around the world.
