Job Description:

You will participate in full-cycle software development, from concepts to lab and offsite integration and evaluation. This involves developing new ARV features, leading small projects, mentoring teammates, and directly interfacing with customers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, integrate, and evaluate software for the ARV across the product lifecycle
  • Execute complex software engineering tasks using technical acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Conduct technical reviews of work products
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership for small development teams
  • Interface directly with customers and participate in field testing
  • Support offsite integration and evaluation activities (travel 10–15%)

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in CS, Engineering, or related field (Master’s or PhD a plus)
  • Level II: Bachelor’s + 2+ yrs (or Master’s + 1 yr)
  • Level III: Bachelor’s + 5+ yrs (or Master’s/PhD + 3+ yrs)
  • Strong experience with embedded, robotics, autonomous, or automotive systems
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Java
  • Experience with shell scripting and developing system interfaces (Network/Serial/CAN)
  • Deep understanding of OOA/OOD principles
  • Git or Mercurial workflow, CI/CD pipelines, and defect tracking tools
  • Familiarity with robotics: sensors, actuators, algorithms, field integration and test
  • Experience or familiarity with MIL-STD-882E, UML/MBSE tools (MagicDraw a plus)
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers
  • Comfortable in Unix-based development environments

Nice to have:

  • Experience in autonomous vehicle or robotics industry
  • Experience in field-testing and system integration
  • Hands-on experience with MagicDraw or similar modeling tools
