Our team builds and manages the tools and services that power the lifecycle of critical actions taken supporting Uber’s Marketplace Security ecosystem. This role is for a developer who will be writing code to design, build, and scale systems that help keep Uber’s global community safe. You’ll develop and maintain full-stack applications, manage business-critical databases and real-time services, and work closely with cross-functional partners to integrate security needs into Uber's marketplace configuration platform.
Job Responsibility:
Writes high-quality code (i.e., reliable, readable, efficient, testable), provides quality code reviews, and creates comprehensive tests and quality documentation using software engineering principles
Uses software design principles and methods to reuse, extend, or build effective architectures
Executes work with drive and appropriate sense of urgency to deliver technical and business impact
Builds trusting and collaborative relationships and rapport with different types of people and teams
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
4+ years of relevant experience
Extensive experience in front end web development technologies like React, Angular, NodeJS
Experience coding using general purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Go, or Javascript)
Strong experience in architecture design, high-availability, and high-performance systems
Deep understanding of distributed systems
Nice to have:
Proven experience and interest in full-stack development, with strong emphasis on backend systems
Demonstrated success in driving collaboration with Product Management, Design, and other cross-functional partners
Prior experience working on business-critical systems with measurable impact on company performance and top-line growth
