  • Hands on in building next-generation self-service platform, partnering with product engineers to enable rapid, reliable deployment with strong guardrails
  • Lead by example in operational excellence—guide the team through high-severity incidents, eliminate gaps in observability, improve incident response processes, and uphold reliability standards
  • Participate in a sustainable on-call rotation and help shape Notion’s reliability culture

Requirements

  • Software Engineer with Cloud Infrastructure Foundation: hands-on software engineer expert in contributing to large codebases and establishing strong patterns in greenfield projects
  • test-driven development mindset
  • expertise with cloud concepts, particularly in networking, compute optimization
  • build observability tools to validate changes and programmatically catch regressions
  • Startup mentality: comfortable navigating the fast moving, unstructured nature of a hyper-growth startup
  • Pragmatic and business-oriented: care about business impact and prioritize projects accordingly
  • curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Cloud Compute and Networking technologies - Cloudflare / AWS
  • Experience with Cloud Efficiency - capacity planning, cost attribution
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code Technologies - Terraform / Pulumi / Typescript
