Job Description:

Software Engineer role within the Order Promise and Allocation subdomain at IKEA, focused on improving the accuracy and consistency of the availability and lead time promise for home delivery and collection options, adding flexibility and accuracy in handling picking capacity more efficiently, enabling a more efficient, flexible and transparent return process.

Job Responsibility:

Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following best practices
Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with product owners/specialists, data engineers, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives
System Optimization: Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
Troubleshooting & Debugging: Identify and resolve technical issues to ensure smooth operation of backend systems
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements, automation, and optimization of development workflows

Requirements:

Passionate about backend engineering, system architecture, and scalable solutions
Effective communicator, able to collaborate with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Adaptable and resilient in dynamic environments with changing requirements
Committed to writing high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code
Strong ability and interest in learning new things and continuously improving skills and knowledge
