As a Software Engineer Developer IV, in the role of Principal Performance Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and robustness of Brightstar’s lottery software solutions, supporting their global release. You will manage the entire performance test cycle—including planning, scripting, data loading, execution, monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting—using both manual and automated methods. Working closely with developers, DevOps, and architects in a distributed and agile environment, you will collaborate to resolve issues and drive continuous process improvements. Your responsibilities will also include designing and executing comprehensive performance tests, leveraging Generative AI tools like GitHub Copilot to boost team efficiency and foster innovation. Expertise in cloud environments, automation, and CI/CD pipelines is essential, as you will be instrumental in sizing, scaling, and configuring cloud services for resilience and optimal performance, with opportunities to expand from Azure to other leading cloud providers.
Job Responsibility:
Collect performance requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Conduct thorough infrastructure assessments
Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies
Create and enhance scripts for performance testing
Design detailed test scenarios
Execute a range of performance tests, including load, stress, soak, spike, and failover assessments
Monitor servers and applications utilizing tools such as ESX vCenter, Sar, Top, and Grafana
Operate efficiently within an Agile methodology
Log and track performance issues using JIRA
Collaborate with subject matter experts to troubleshoot technical issues
Do performance tuning, error analysis, and document test results accurately
Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members
Enable effective collaboration across distributed teams
Requirements:
Minimum 8+ years of Performance Testing experience using JMeter, LoadRunner
Proficient English communication skills (B2/C1), strong interpersonal abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication
Proficient in using profiling tools such as YourKit and JProfiler
Skilled in Java thread dump analysis
Experience with Azure Cloud and Kubernetes environments
Test automation experience is considered an asset
Familiarity with Gatling and Robot Framework
Understanding of networking fundamentals and WireShark monitoring
Hand-on experience with web-based systems utilizing Apache and Spring Boot app servers
Working knowledge of Linux operating systems, DB2 and PostgreSQL databases
Experience in enterprise environments, demonstrating analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and testing skills
Able to manage tasks independently and effectively contribute to remote team efforts
