Job Description:

Citi is hiring a Software Development Test Engineer to focus on quality assurance using automation tools like Cypress. The role includes CI/CD best practices, automated testing initiatives, improving SDLC and DevOps processes, and partnering with teams to deliver testing solutions. Applicants need strong experience in Cypress, JavaScript, system analysis, and programming, as well as the ability to work autonomously and in fast-paced environments.

Job Responsibility:

Focus on quality assurance using automation testing tools like Cypress
Champion best practices in CI/CD
Foster a culture of quality through developer-led automated testing
Drive continuous improvement in SDLC, agile, and DevOps processes
Act as a direct partner with the development team to ensure robust automation testing solutions
Analyse business requirements to determine comprehensive testing strategy
Oversee the creation and maintenance of project and technical documentation
Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
Execute manual test runs when required and integrate them into the automation framework

Requirements:

Cypress & JavaScript Development are essential
Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of application automation and able to act as a mentor to those upskilling
Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate and have experience working in fast paced development environments
Ability to work autonomously
Ability to interact with tech lead and deliver results, progressing a build to production with quality assured
Appetite for taking on challenges and leveraging new technologies
Verbal and written communication skills are vital

Nice to have:

Experience in cloud technologies (Kubernetes, Open Shift)
Experience in database/data store/data query technologies (SQL Server, Mongo, S3)
