An opportunity has arisen in the Airbus Defence and Space Romania Engineering team for a key leadership position! As a Software Development and Test Automation Manager, you will be responsible for bridging business objectives and technical execution, ensuring the software team is high-performing, well-aligned, and consistently delivers high-quality, valuable products and services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Bridging business objectives and technical execution
  • Oversee the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Maintain a focus on technical excellence

  • Making critical architectural decisions
  • Ensuring the team's technical roadmap and daily tasks are directly aligned with the overall business objectives and product vision
  • Define the team's long-term and short-term objectives

  • Proactively identify technical and project risks
  • Implement best practices to maintain high-quality software

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in a Software Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years in Technical Leadership roles
  • Proven track record in leading complex software projects with hands on experience in all SDLC
  • Must prior experience in at least 2 programming languages
  • Minimum of 5 years in delivery of production ready software in distributed systems and cloud stack
  • Deep familiarity system design and system architecture
  • At least 5 years’ experience in delivering production ready software systems in distributed and cloud stack
  • Experience and advanced knowledge in at least 2 programming language (e.g. Java, C++)
  • Extensive experience using multiple programming languages and associated frameworks
  • Proficiency in development methodologies (like Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
  • The ability to proactively identify technical and project risks
  • In line with the Airbus leadership model, manage direct team(s)
  • Engage, develop and motivate the direct team(s)
