Job Description

Make your mark as software developer at Boskalis by taking complete responsibility for software development for our Survey department! Boskalis is a world-class maritime services provider and represents the leading edge of solutions for major maritime challenges. Technical innovations are crucial for offering efficient and sustainable solutions to these challenges. With projects worldwide and a fleet of 600 vessels and equipment, Boskalis has a lot to offer you as a software developer in the field of technical software and systems. In this role, you will primarily work on software used by hydrographic surveyors. These surveyors, work for all divisions within Boskalis: dredging & inland infrastructure, offshore energy, towage, and salvage. This means you will encounter a wide range of software-related issues.

Job Responsibility

  • Based on the needs of the Survey department, you'll identify the software that needs to be developed
  • You'll inventory and analyze the required functionality and then be responsible for designing, building, testing, and documenting the software

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in technology or computer science
  • Preferably 5-10 years of relevant work experience in a similar role where you independently developed (technical) software
  • Knowledge of applied development methods, languages, and tools, such as Linux and C++
  • Demonstrable experience with object-oriented information analysis, software design, development, and documentation
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfortable working abroad for short periods
