Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our team in Southern California on a long-term contract basis. This role will involve developing and supporting applications for large-scale projects within the automotive finance industry. You will have the opportunity to work onsite four days per week, collaborating with a dynamic team to enhance system performance and resolve production issues.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain applications for large-scale projects in the automotive finance domain
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including analyzing and addressing mainframe online and batch abends
  • Optimize daily and monthly batch processes to improve performance and reduce processing time
  • Conduct impact analyses across various platforms and applications to ensure seamless integration
  • Create detailed documentation for estimates, design, and development processes
  • Provide on-call support during off-hours for critical production batch operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system capabilities and meet project goals
  • Leverage expertise in mainframe technologies, including MQ and DB2, to deliver robust solutions
  • Research and address issues related to financial services, such as payment processing, customer service, and loan administration
  • Support testing activities by preparing and delivering unit test plans and results

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the automotive finance industry, with a strong understanding of financial services processes such as payment processing, collections, and bankruptcy
  • Proficiency in mainframe systems and tools, including MQ and DB2
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
  • Familiarity with unit testing practices and deliverables
  • Excellent documentation skills to support design and development activities
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work within a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to provide on-call support for production batch processes during non-business hours

Nice to have

Experience with systematics or similar financial systems is a plus
