We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our team in Southern California. This role focuses on application development and production support for large-scale projects within the automotive finance industry. As this is a long-term contract position, you will be responsible for maintaining critical systems and ensuring smooth operations while providing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and support applications for large-scale projects, ensuring high performance and reliability
Investigate and resolve production issues, including troubleshooting online and batch processing errors
Analyze and optimize daily and monthly batch processes to improve efficiency and reduce processing windows
Conduct impact analyses across multiple platforms and applications to assess changes effectively
Create thorough documentation for estimates, design, and development activities
Provide on-call support during off-hours to ensure continuity of production batch operations
Utilize mainframe technologies such as MQ, DB2, and other relevant tools to meet project requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of system updates
Research and implement best practices for unit testing and quality assurance
Apply business knowledge of automotive finance processes, including payment processing, collections, repossession, and recovery
Requirements:
Proven experience in application development and production support within the automotive finance industry
Strong understanding of financial services processes, including lending, payment processing, and collections
Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as MQ and DB2
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in both online and batch environments
Excellent documentation skills for design, development, and estimates
Familiarity with unit testing practices and deliverables
Effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams
Availability to provide on-call support during non-business hours
