We are seeking a software cost and technology specialist to join the Design to Cost team within Direct-to-Consumer (D2C). This role focuses on end-to-end software and service cost analysis, supporting commercial decision-making, supplier negotiations, and steering committee outcomes. You will work closely with Supply Chain Management and Group Technology stakeholders, translating technical software requirements into robust, bottom-up cost models that drive transparency, efficiency, and value.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct end-to-end software and service should-cost analyses by identifying, assessing, and modelling key cost drivers
define and size software technical specifications, assessing requirement quality and maturity
perform function point analysis and process mapping to identify inefficiencies and optimisation opportunities
build clean-sheet cost models covering software delivery, testing, implementation, and nearshore or field-based service support
register savings opportunities, set cost-reduction ambitions, and support steering committee decisions in tender processes
act as a subject matter expert in supplier negotiations, working alongside Category Managers to achieve best-in-class commercial outcomes
Requirements:
Degree-qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related discipline
experienced in software functionality, application development concepts, and Agile delivery approaches
technically fluent, with the ability to understand software architectures, cost drivers, and service delivery models without needing to code
comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders and presenting complex technical topics to non-technical audiences, including senior leaders
analytical, structured, and pragmatic, with strong problem-solving capability and a continuous-improvement mindset
Nice to have:
experience in software testing and quality processes
clean-sheet costing
function point analysis (e.g. COSMIC or IFPUG)
cloud economics
FinOps principles
Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
