We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect (d/f/m) to join our innovative Airbus Defence and Space Team, for upcoming and existing projects from German and international Customers.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with stakeholders, Product Owners, and requirements engineers to gather and analyze software requirements, documenting them in Confluence
Model software requirements using Cameo Modelling
Design high-level software architectures, defining components, modules, and interfaces
Guide development teams in implementing the software architecture
Document integration specifications and protocols in Confluence for team reference
Optimize software systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, using Cameo Modelling to simulate and analyze system behavior under load
Communicate architectural decisions to stakeholders, developers, and testers, ensuring alignment with project goals
Identify technical risks in software design or implementation, logging them in Jira for tracking and resolution
Work with Chief and Lead Engineers and/or Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other roles to refine requirements and ensure architectural runway, documenting outcomes in Confluence
Collaborate with Verification, Validation, and Test (VVT) teams to ensure the architecture supports testable requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field
Proven experience as a Software Architect or similar role in software development, preferably in Agile or systems engineering environments
Strong background in designing and implementing complex software systems, including microservices, cloud-based, or enterprise applications
Knowledge of agile methodologies, specifically Scrum and SAFe would be beneficial
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
Strong organizational skills and self-motivated work ethic
Ability to motivate and inspire team members
Flexible and adaptable to changing project demands
Strong communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement
Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Familiarity with defense industry standards and practices
Defence or Automotive background knowledge
Nice to have:
Knowledge of agile methodologies, specifically Scrum and SAFe would be beneficial
