Software Architect

• Lead the architectural design, definition, and documentation of software systems
• develop and maintain technical roadmaps for software products and platforms
• research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools
• define and oversee integration strategies for various software components, subsystems, and external systems
• design and implement robust security architectures and ensure compliance
• architect solutions that meet stringent performance, reliability, and scalability requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• 8-10 years of progressive experience in software development
• at least 3-5 years in a dedicated Software Architect role
• proven experience in designing and delivering complex, large-scale software systems, preferably within defence, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries
• demonstrable experience with various architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven, monolithic decomposition)
• strong proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python, Ada) relevant to embedded or real-time systems
• extensive knowledge of software design principles, object-oriented design, and design patterns
• experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software development is highly desirable
• familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) where applicable
• understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure software development practices
• experience with model-driven architecture (MDA) tools and techniques is a plus
• eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance
