This role offers hands-on experience, skill development across departments, and the opportunity to play a vital part in shaping growing academic partnerships.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain and update the internal database for societies and acquisitions
  • Set up system accounts for societies affiliated with the journals
  • Respond to society members regarding discount policies and eligibility
  • Research societies suggested by Managing Editors, Journal Relations Specialists, or other colleagues, and recommend appropriate outreach strategies
  • Research journals with potential for acquisition or take-over and prepare supporting information
  • Monitor team activities and compile monthly reports
  • Draft preliminary agreements and amendments using established templates
  • Ensure all contracts and related documents are accurately stored and well-organized
  • Provide support for team marketing initiatives
  • Assist in updating documents, guidelines, and web content related to societies
  • Support the team with additional tasks as required, aligned with the Assistant’s skills and experience

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree, ideally in Marketing, Communications, or Publishing
  • Native or near-native proficiency in English and French (C2 level)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong strategic awareness
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Comfortable collaborating across departments and with diverse stakeholders

  • Assist special initiatives and projects related to the Japanese House and Gallery spaces
  • Support and coordinate community engagement efforts, including building relationships with key stakeholders like the Consulate General of Japan, Japan Society of Boston, and Urasenke Boston, ensuring the Japanese House reflects diverse narratives within Japanese culture
