We are seeking a motivated and person-centred individual to join a dedicated team, providing vital support and empowering individuals with learning disabilities to live fulfilling lives within the vibrant island community. Job Responsibility:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals' needs and strengths, working collaboratively with them, their families, and carers
  • Developing and implementing person-centred support plans that promote independence, choice, and control
  • Providing ongoing support, advice, and guidance to individuals and their networks
  • Working in partnership with a range of agencies including health professionals, housing providers, and voluntary organisations
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults in accordance with local policies and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the service

Requirements:

  • A qualified and registered Social Worker - SSSC registered
  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities is essential
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle is desirable due to the rural nature of Orkney
