Randstad are recruiting for Qualified Social Workers to join East Lothian Council's Adults Service in their SDS team. This is a full time role offering a fantastic competitive pay rate.
Job Responsibility:
Lead holistic, person-centered assessments that identify individual strengths and personal outcomes rather than just service deficits
Apply National Eligibility Criteria to ensure resources are directed to those with substantial or critical needs
Co-produce robust support plans that transition individuals from acute or crisis settings into long-term community stability
Expertly guide service users and their families through the 4 SDS Options, ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities
Facilitate Option 1 (Direct Payments) by setting up budgets, assisting with PA recruitment via partner agencies (LCIL), and monitoring financial compliance
Authorise innovative spend solutions that meet social care outcomes more effectively than traditional "off-the-shelf" services
Act as a Council Officer to lead inquiries and investigations, ensuring robust risk management for adults at risk of harm
Execute duties under the Social Care (SDS) (Scotland) Act 2013, the Adults with Incapacity Act, and the Mental Health Act
Maintain a complex caseload with a high expectation for throughput and timely annual reviews
Work alongside GPs, District Nurses, and the Home First team to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions
Partner with Carers of East Lothian (CoEL) and advocacy groups to provide a "whole-family" approach to support
Ensure all case notes, assessments, and financial approvals are accurately recorded using the MOSAIC case management system
