Northumberland's Disabled Children's Team are looking for a dedicated Social Worker who understands that "disability" is just one part of a child's story. You will be the bridge between families and the support they need to thrive, ensuring that every child in the county has the opportunity to lead a fulfilling, safe, and ambitious life.
Job Responsibility:
Build genuine, lasting connections with children with complex needs and their personal support networks
Conduct holistic assessments under the Children Act 1989 and 2004, ensuring the voice of the child is heard, even when they are non-verbal
Work alongside health and education colleagues to create seamless Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and support packages
Manage a varied caseload including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children Looked After, specifically tailored to the nuances of disability
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
Experience (or a strong interest) in working with children with physical disabilities and learning disabilities
The ability to think creatively, sometimes the best solutions aren't found in a handbook
