The social worker assigned to URMC Mobile Crisis Team functions as a crisis therapist and provides mental health assessment, and crisis intervention and treatment to complex mentally ill patients who are at risk in a variety of outreach settings, including group homes, shelters, patients' homes, and other sites across Monroe County.
Job Responsibility:
Provide psychosocial assessment to patients in outreach settings
Provides psychiatric crisis intervention and treatment in the community to help stabilize patients
Provides clinical leadership to Mobile Crisis Team in the field
Responsible for ensuring assessment of safety of scene prior to deployment of Mobile Crisis Team
Documents treatment in patient's electronic medical record
Attends Social Work Division, Social Work in Psychiatry and Program staff meetings
Ensures that proper treatment and referral protocols are followed
Participates in on-call activities (rotational basis) of the Mobile Crisis Team
Based on experience, the social worker may supervise social work or other master's level graduate students
Based on experience/interest, may participate in interdisciplinary research.
Requirements:
Master's degree from an accredited school of social work (CSWE)
Licensure as a social worker, as defined by the State Board for Social Work, State Education Department, Division of Professional Licensing Services is required
Must possess a valid New York State Driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
Nice to have:
2-3 years professional social work practice beyond the Master's degree, at least one of which must include psychiatric emergency, crisis or outreach work
or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge about and ability to provide behavioral health assessments/evaluations and evidenced based interventions
Commitment to and routine demonstration of biopsychosocial approach to care of individuals and families
Dedication to delivering a team-based integrated model of care
