Champion the rights and well-being of children in care. Join our team. Middlesbrough Borough Council's Cared for Children Team is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to providing high-quality support and advocacy for children in care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and positive outcomes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children in care, identifying their needs, strengths, and aspirations
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans, tailored to the specific needs of each child
  • Provide direct support to children in care through one-to-one sessions, group work, and regular visits
  • Maintain close relationships with foster families, providing support and guidance to ensure children receive high-quality care
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and organizations to ensure children access a range of resources and services
  • Monitor progress, evaluate interventions, and make adjustments as needed
  • Advocate for the needs of children in care, ensuring their rights and well-being are protected
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines
  • Participate in regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent)
  • Social Care England registration
  • Updated DBS check
  • Experience working with children in care, particularly those in foster care
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance related to supporting children in care
