At a competitive rate of £32.73/hr, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to specialize in Kinship care-a field that directly impacts a child's sense of identity and long-term stability. In this role, you won't just be managing a caseload; you will be an advocate for 'family-first' placements. You will work with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and close family friends who have stepped up to provide a loving home in times of crisis.
Job Responsibility:
Conducting initial viability assessments to determine if a family placement is safe and sustainable
Completing robust, high-quality assessments for temporary and long-term fostering approval (Reg 24 & Form F)
Guiding carers through the Special Guardianship (SGO) process to ensure legal permanence for children
Providing ongoing guidance and supervision to kinship carers to help them navigate the challenges of their new roles
Requirements:
Registered with Social Work England
Previous experience in Fostering, Kinship, or Child Protection is essential
Strong report writing (Form F/SGO) and the ability to present cases to panels or courts
A deep-seated belief that, where safe, children belong with their families
BA in social work
Be able to manage challenging situations
