Job Description:

The Social Worker/Therapist 2 works two days per week in the Early Years team providing evidence -based clinical interventions children under 7 years of age and their families and three days per week in the Brief/Clinics program providing individual and/or group evidence-based clinical interventions to children over the age of 6 and their families.

Requirements:

  • M.S.W., M.A.
  • Registered as a Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or Registered as a Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists
  • 2 years clinical experience
  • Experience and / or training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions in assessments, individual, family and group therapy, and brief solution focused treatment
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check within the last six (6) months
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, able to supply own vehicle, and be insurable to drive in Ontario

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with offering services via virtual platforms (i.e. email, text, online counselling)
  • If direct virtual supports are unfamiliar then an understanding of the various forms of virtual care, as well as an understanding of clinical and privacy responsibilities
  • Bilingual in (French and English)
  • Experience working with the Indigenous population
  • Good communication and organizational skills
