As a social worker in a Glasgow prison, you'll provide vital support and guidance to individuals who have committed sex offences. You'll be part of a dedicated team, working to rehabilitate offenders and contribute to the safety of our communities.

Job Responsibility

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of prisoners' needs, including risk of re-offending and welfare concerns
  • Developing and implementing care plans that support personal growth and rehabilitation
  • Providing one-to-one counseling and group therapy sessions
  • Collaborating with other prison staff, including psychologists, prison officers, and chaplains, to ensure a holistic approach to rehabilitation
  • Preparing reports and assessments for parole boards and other agencies

Requirements

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW)
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Social Worker
