  • Provide direct social work support to prisoners, addressing issues related to family relationships, housing, and personal well-being
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to case conferences, parole reports, and release planning
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as community mental health teams, housing associations, and voluntary organisations

  • Current SSSC registration as a social worker
  • Significant post-qualifying experience in a criminal justice setting or with individuals convicted of sexual offenses
  • Accreditation and practical experience in using structured risk assessment tools for sexual offenders (e.g., LSCMI, RSVP, SARN, or similar)
  • A strong understanding of the legal frameworks related to sexual offending and risk management in Scotland
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a complex caseload

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the Scottish prison system and its operations
  • Experience in group work and facilitating therapeutic interventions
  • A full UK driving license is preferred as occasional travel may be required
