Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join the Duty and Assessment Team at Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive local authority offering an excellent hourly rate.

Job Responsibility

  • Responding to new referrals and conducting timely Initial Assessments and Section 47 Enquiries
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners (MASH, Police, Health) to gather information and inform professional judgements
  • Presenting findings clearly and concisely to inform the next steps, whether that is progression to Child Protection, Child in Need, or case closure
  • Maintaining accurate and high-quality records on electronic case management systems

Requirements

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker (QSW) registered with Social Work England
  • Proven, recent experience working within a statutory Duty & Assessment or Front Door service
  • Excellent understanding of the Children Act 1989 and relevant child protection legislation
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced, complex caseload and work effectively under pressure
