Job Description

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and highly skilled Social Worker to join their Children's Safeguarding team. This dual-focus role covers both Loughborough and Melton, requiring a versatile professional capable of managing a complex caseload spanning Child Protection (CP) and Court proceedings. This is a hybrid position that offers flexibility alongside vital in-person collaboration.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage a complex caseload involving Child Protection (CP) planning and care proceedings
  • Prepare high-quality court reports, statements, and assessments
  • Provide professional testimony for court attendance
  • Actively participate in the multi-disciplinary team environment to safeguard and promote the welfare of children

Requirements

  • 3 years of permanent experience working within a Local Authority (LA) Children's Services department
  • Degree in Social Work
  • active Social Work England registration
  • Strong track record in court work and navigating the child protection framework
