Job Responsibility
Reviewing Guardianship Orders: Systematically assessing the necessity, appropriateness, and effectiveness of existing private guardianship orders
Case File Examination: Thoroughly reviewing legal and social work documents, care plans, and financial records related to the adult with incapacity
Stakeholder Interviews: Meeting with the adult with incapacity, their private guardian(s), family members, and other relevant professionals (e.g., GPs, care staff) to gather a complete picture of their well-being and best interests
Report Generation: Producing high-quality, legally sound, and evidence-based reports detailing your findings and recommendations for the Sheriff Court, in accordance with the statutory requirements for the three-year review of private guardianships
Risk Assessment: Identifying and assessing any potential risks, concerns, or changes in circumstances that may affect the adult's welfare or the suitability of the current arrangements
Requirements
A degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
Current SSSC registration as a social worker
