This is a fast-paced, rewarding role that puts you at the heart of the community, ensuring patients receive the care and protection they need as they transition back to their homes.

Job Responsibility

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and managing complex care packages
  • Applying deep knowledge of Social Work Scotland frameworks
  • Ensuring compliance and advocacy under the Adults with Incapacity (AWI) Act and the Adult Support and Protection (ASP) Act
  • Navigating the Capacity Act to ensure patient rights and safety are upheld

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with ASP, AWI, and the Capacity Act
  • A background in Social Work Scotland standards and care management
  • The ability to work full-time in Oban (non-hybrid to start)
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with multi-disciplinary hospital teams

  • Discharge Planning: The primary role of the Medical Social Worker II for hospital settings is to facilitate the execution of approved and appropriate inpatient discharge plans between facilities or into the community
