Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and highly motivated Social Services Representative to join our dedicated call center team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking support, providing information, referrals, and empathetic guidance to connect them with the resources they need. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values social impact, and enjoys speaking with people from diverse backgrounds.

Job Responsibility:

Answer a high volume of inbound calls from individuals in need of support or information regarding social services
Actively listen, assess needs, and provide accurate referrals to local programs, government benefits, and nonprofit partners
Maintain thorough knowledge of available services including housing, food assistance, mental health, substance use, employment, and financial aid
Document all call interactions, service requests, and referrals accurately in the database
De-escalate crises with empathy, professionalism, and urgency while following proper protocols
Collaborate with internal departments and community organizations to ensure clients receive comprehensive support
Meet established call metrics and quality assurance standards

Requirements:

Previous experience in social services, case management, call centers, or customer service strongly preferred
Passion for helping others and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Ability to manage a high volume of calls while remaining patient, calm, and solution-oriented
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with computers and comfortable navigating databases and online resources
Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) is a plus
