We are seeking a Social Media Specialist to support a large, nationally recognized healthcare organization’s Corporate Communications team. This role focuses on developing and sharing compelling social media content that highlights how the organization supports its patients, colleagues, and communities. The ideal candidate has experience writing brand‑focused social copy, creating social‑optimized videos and graphics, and staying current with platform trends and best practices. This position requires a strong grasp of AP Style, excellent storytelling abilities, and the ability to communicate with clarity and creativity across multiple audiences.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with the Social Media Communications Manager and internal partners to identify and prioritize content opportunities
Write concise, engaging copy for social posts, graphics, captions, and video scripts
Curate, edit, post, and monitor content across corporate social channels in alignment with the communications editorial calendar
Manage ongoing scheduling and posting across platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
Partner with creative, photo, and video teams to deliver high‑quality visual content
Implement brand storytelling using colleague, expert, patient, and partner testimonials
Participate in social conversations to foster engagement and build brand awareness
Support organic social campaigns tied to reputation management, PR initiatives, colleague celebrations, and healthcare observances
develop tools and assets for affiliate locations when needed
Collaborate with PR, marketing, internal communications, HR, and consumer content teams to ensure alignment across channels
Develop performance reports using internal benchmarks and KPIs
provide insights and recommendations for improvement
Assist with social media monitoring during crisis or disaster response situations, using sound judgment and escalating issues as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required (Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Multimedia Content, or related field preferred)
2–3 years in social media–related roles such as communications, PR, journalism, agency or account management, content strategy, and/or content marketing
At least 2 years of professional writing experience
Strong AP Style writing and editing skills
Experience using social media tools and platform management systems
Ability to interpret social KPIs and use metrics to enhance performance
Strong storytelling abilities paired with technical understanding of social platforms
Excellent interpersonal and cross‑functional collaboration skills
Highly motivated, creative, and able to work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
Nice to have:
Healthcare communications experience
Familiarity with Meta Business Suite
Basic knowledge of video, photo, or audio editing software
