Job Description

We are looking for a Social Events Sales Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong, career-focused background in events management. We’re seeking someone who is detail-driven, guest-centric, and naturally creative, with a warm yet confident presence. This role oversees social events of varying complexity and requires someone who can balance operational precision with an elevated, personalized client experience.

Job Responsibility

  • Specifically handle the social events market (contracts, responding to inquiries etc.)
  • Manage internal and external social events
  • Respond quickly to guest requests in a professional manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction within 24 hours
  • Clearly communicate details of events to client and hotel departments via contracts, banquet event orders (BEO) and internal meetings
  • Conduct site inspections with prospective couples and clients, showcasing the hotel
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional coordination with Banquets, Culinary, Rooms, Sales, and external partners to ensure seamless event execution
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Manages wedding room blocks and meeting space for assigned weddings
  • Anticipates, addresses, and resolves guest concerns with professionalism and impeccable service
  • Maintain the integrity of Opera Sales & Event Management (OSEM) at all times
  • Create floor plans that optimize space and ensure a memorable guest experience
  • Strong understanding of event financials, including billing accuracy, deposit schedules, minimum spend requirements, and opportunities to optimize revenue

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as Events/Wedding Sales Manager or similar role
  • Degree or equivalent in Hospitality Management an asset
  • Computer literate
  • A strong passion for weddings, with the drive to translate client visions into successful events

  • Supports revenue generation through the sale and coordination of premium seating products and private event bookings across the BMO Center, Coronado Theatre, and Davis Park
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with premium seating clients, including suite holders, club seat members, and hospitality buyers, to ensure renewals and repeat business
  • Assist with the sales, servicing, and fulfillment of premium seating products for concerts, sporting events, and special events
  • Seek out, solicit, and coordinate new private event business, including meetings, banquets, receptions, corporate events, and social functions
