Job Responsibility

  • Maintain and manage material data submissions in the IMDS platform
  • Verify and ensure the accuracy of material declarations from suppliers and internal departments
  • Analyze material data for compliance with environmental regulations
  • Ensure that all materials used in products meet both customer and regulatory requirements
  • Stay updated on relevant environmental regulations and automotive standards
  • Assist in ensuring products are compliant with global environmental and sustainability requirements
  • Work closely with suppliers to collect and validate material data
  • Provide guidance to suppliers on IMDS submission processes and compliance requirements
  • Conduct training sessions for suppliers on how to use the IMDS system effectively
  • Analyze product material data to identify and mitigate potential risks related to hazardous materials
  • Generate detailed reports for internal stakeholders and customers based on IMDS data
  • Work on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to support environmental sustainability goals
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Engineering, Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Compliance departments, to ensure smooth data flow and process efficiency
  • Act as the point of contact for all IMDS-related queries and issues within the organization
  • Support new product introductions (NPIs) by providing material compliance data in a timely manner
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing IMDS-related workflows and compliance tracking
  • Recommend and implement best practices for material compliance and data management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or related fields)
  • 2-6 years of experience in IMDS data management, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Hands-on experience with IMDS software and material data submissions
  • Familiarity with global regulations such as REACH, RoHS, ELV Directive
  • Understanding of material science and environmental compliance
  • Proficiency in IMDS software, and strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of PLM systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001)
  • Experience with supplier management or procurement
  • Certifications in sustainability or environmental compliance would be an advantage
