Job Responsibility:
Maintain and manage material data submissions in the IMDS platform
Verify and ensure the accuracy of material declarations from suppliers and internal departments
Analyze material data for compliance with environmental regulations
Ensure that all materials used in products meet both customer and regulatory requirements
Stay updated on relevant environmental regulations and automotive standards
Assist in ensuring products are compliant with global environmental and sustainability requirements
Work closely with suppliers to collect and validate material data
Provide guidance to suppliers on IMDS submission processes and compliance requirements
Conduct training sessions for suppliers on how to use the IMDS system effectively
Analyze product material data to identify and mitigate potential risks related to hazardous materials
Generate detailed reports for internal stakeholders and customers based on IMDS data
Work on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to support environmental sustainability goals
Collaborate with internal teams, including Engineering, Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Compliance departments, to ensure smooth data flow and process efficiency
Act as the point of contact for all IMDS-related queries and issues within the organization
Support new product introductions (NPIs) by providing material compliance data in a timely manner
Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing IMDS-related workflows and compliance tracking
Recommend and implement best practices for material compliance and data management
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or related fields)
2-6 years of experience in IMDS data management, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry
Hands-on experience with IMDS software and material data submissions
Familiarity with global regulations such as REACH, RoHS, ELV Directive
Understanding of material science and environmental compliance
Proficiency in IMDS software, and strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to have:
Knowledge of PLM systems is a plus
Knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001)
Experience with supplier management or procurement
Certifications in sustainability or environmental compliance would be an advantage
