Our Construction Team sits within the Corporate and Commercial department. It has a varied mix of work across both the public sector and private clients, predominately in sectors including health, local government (including work in the arts and education sector), emergency services and social housing. We advise on projects from "cradle to "grave". We design and structure projects. We advise on operational issues. We advise on termination and expiry issues. We also advise on the full range of disputes that can arise out of procurements including procurement disputes, design and construction disputes, operational disputes particularly in relation to payment disputes and fire safety disputes and termination disputes. We advise on a number of market leading matters in the PFI / Projects / Infrastructure arenas and are currently advising on a number of schemes within the NHS New Hospital Programme. We have market-leading experience of advising on terminating PFI contracts in the health and emergency services sectors. We are now seeking a construction transactional senior lawyer to join our busy construction team that operates across all our offices. We work as a national team with clients and projects nationwide. Our team continues to expand to support new projects with our existing and new clients. Many of the high value and complex projects you will be advising on are not widely reported due to the public nature of them and our clients. You will undertake a wide range of high quality and complex construction and engineering work primarily for our public and private sector clients predominantly across the health, local government, housing and emergency service sectors. You will be a commercially minded solicitor who can work very closely with clients, provide first class practical advice and who is technically proficient in drafting and advising on a range of construction project documents. The role will involve responsibility for your own caseload as well as working closely with the partners and solicitors of the team on business development opportunities. A genuine interest in growing business from existing clients as well as targeting and attracting new clients is therefore very important. We are looking for a new team member who has: Experience of drafting, negotiating and advising on NEC and JCT contract documents, a full range of construction agreements including appointments, bonds PCGs etc. with other experience in PFI being ideal; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills whilst building client relationships; Excellent commercial awareness; Pride in their work and with client care; The ability and willingness to work flexibly and autonomously; A team orientated mindset
