Within the Design team You will join our Studio’s Design division, a team of around ten people responsible for the creation and development of Polène’s leather goods collections. The product scope of the position includes: Creation and development of new SLG lines (developing new design codes or adapting existing ones from leather goods); Evolution of existing SLG lines (color updates or new design animations such as textures); Design of additional accessory typologies (such as phone holders, mini bags, etc.); Seasonal updates on existing bags (Spring and Autumn) involving the development of new materials (leather textures or mixed materials) and color animations
Job Responsibility:
Conduct iconographic research and build moodboards from creative briefs to enrich existing lines (small leathergoods, accessories, charms…)
Translate concepts into sketches, technical drawings (Illustrator), Photoshop simulations, and handcrafted mock-ups
Create physical prototypes at various stages of development to test proportions, volumes, and detailing
Draft technical specification sheets for our in-house or external manufacturing partners (France, Spain, English-speaking countries)
Prepare correction sheets to guide the development and refinement of prototypes
Closely monitor project progress in coordination with the Collection and Sourcing teams
Take part in bi-monthly design meetings with the CEO and relevant teams to present project updates
Bring your design and materials expertise to the table to enrich the creative conversation and evolve the identity of Polène’s collections
Stay consistently up to date on industry trends, artisanal techniques, and innovations in leather goods
Requirements:
2 to 5 years of experience in SLGs and/or accessory design
expertise in leather goods construction techniques, leather materials, and the engineering of metal components
proficient in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
skilled in hand drawing
capable of building mock-ups using salpa and/or microfiber
strong creativity
sensitivity aligned with Polène’s aesthetic
genuine interest in hands-on craftsmanship
autonomous
detail-oriented
well-organized
able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
