Job Description:

The Small Engine Mechanic will have a working knowledge of Stihl products and maintain a proper in-stock levels of merchandise and strive for product knowledge for tools, hardware and supplies as well as all areas of the store to enhance customer service. The Small Engine Mechanic will also assist in maintaining clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness.

Job Responsibility:

  • Project a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware
  • Proactively assist customers in solving problems
  • Greet customers
  • Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively
  • Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to management
  • Possess good product knowledge and knowledge of store layout
  • Responsible for cycle counting and maintaining desirable inventory level in assigned department(s)
  • Work with management to ensure preventative maintenance and repairs are completed
  • Ensure accurate receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise
  • Responsible for maintenance of back stock levels
  • Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area
  • Assist with overall maintenance of the store
  • Ensure weekly price changes are done
  • Ensure monthly cycle counts and negative on hand reports are completed
  • Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor
  • Assist with merchandise resets
  • Ensure signage is current
  • Operate forklift with proper training
  • Communicate any Store Support Center issue to General Manager
  • Participate in store meetings
  • Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales ideas to General Manager
  • Be professional in appearance and actions
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Floor sales and/or replenishment experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing
  • Ability to exhibit and incorporate Core Values: SERVICE, PASSION, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, TEAMWORK, EXCELLENCE
