The Small Business Account Executive is responsible for acquiring new small business customers and growing existing relationships within Valley Fiber’s service footprint. This role focuses on consultative selling of Internet, phone, and TV solutions to local businesses including retail, professional services, agriculture-related operations, hospitality, and other small enterprises. This is a results-driven, relationship-based sales role that combines prospecting, in-person meetings, and account management.
Job Responsibility:
Identify, prospect, and close new small business customers within assigned territories
Grow Valley Fiber’s market share in rural and regional Manitoba
Conduct needs-based sales conversations to recommend appropriate Internet, phone, and TV solutions
Build and maintain a strong local pipeline through cold outreach, referrals, and community engagement
Manage and grow a portfolio of small business accounts
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities as customer needs evolve
Ensure a smooth onboarding experience in partnership with internal teams
Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned accounts
Develop a deep understanding of the local market, competitors, and customer needs
Represent Valley Fiber at local events, chambers of commerce, and community initiatives
Provide market feedback to leadership on pricing, competition, and product opportunities
Maintain accurate records in CRM systems
Track sales activity, pipeline, and forecasts
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
Requirements:
2+ years of B2B or small business sales experience (telecom, technology, or services preferred)
Strong prospecting and closing skills
Comfortable with in-person, phone, and digital sales outreach
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within rural Manitoba
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
Nice to have:
Experience selling Internet, telecom, or technology solutions
Knowledge of rural Manitoba communities and business landscape
CRM experience (Salesforce, Spotio, Pipedrive or similar)
