Job Description

At Morrisons we’re proud to produce high quality meat products for our customers, both in store and our external partners. As a Manufacturing Slaughter Operative - Fully Skilled in our abattoir, you will be multi-skilled across tasks on the slaughter line to prepare the carcass, working towards the site objective of providing high quality products in a safe, efficient and hygienic environment. You’ll follow training in food safety to ensure a high quality, food safe products are produced for our customers, ensuring health and safety processes are maintained to create a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. You’ll use a knife or bladed machine to prepare the carcass, and will focus on completing tasks efficiently in order to reduce waste and downtime.

Job Responsibility

Requirements

  • Has previous Halal butchery and knife skills experience
  • Must be a holder of current and valid slaughter licence
  • Is able to maintain concentration and consistently high standards in a fast paced food manufacturing environment
  • Is able to understand detailed training and follow guidance and instructions

Nice to have

Food Safety Level 2 is desirable, but can be trained at site
