This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units. Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Set-up, support and production of high-quality products
Support planning, checking, establishing a sequence of work to fabricate, assemble and inspect hardware
Perform multitasking and multi-machine operation
Use any equipment needed to prioritize, complete and process work assignments
Perform any pickup, touch-up, rework, non-conformance, part mark and incorporation of changes to the product as required
Utilizes precision measuring equipment to perform self-inspection of in-process and finished work
Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, technique sheets, work orders, and other documentation
Routinely move products within the shop-defined area
Performs verification of dimensions of parts using both mechanical and electronic precision measurement tools
Perform inspection MVP, including first part review of fabricated parts and assemblies
Initiate and document any non-conforming condition
Skin polishing of mechanical fastened aircraft assemblies
Perform hand form on assemblies and skins to meet engineering requirements
Perform flap peening on assemblies to meet engineering requirements
Perform drilling and disassembly to gain access to area of repair
Perform process activities including protective coatings, metal polishing of aircraft details, isoscope, etc.
Perform plasma spray and support automated flame spray preparation and completion
Perform anodizing and related surface treatment processes
Serve as a subject matter expert for advanced skin quality processes
Train and mentor employees within the Skin Quality job classification
Perform work efficiently and safely in accordance with production schedules and quality requirements
Requirements:
2+ years of precision hand forming and sanding skills
Minimum of 2 years’ experience with the following tools: In line die grinder, 90 degree die grinder, Orbital sander, Jitterbug

All Candidates must pass the WorkKeys Assessment or provide verification that they have passed the WorkKeys Assessment
Nice to have:
5 years experience in aircraft industry blending detail parts, fabricated skins, or in sheet metal
5 years experience in hand form
