Job Description:

Lexicon, Inc. is seeking motivated and enthusiastic candidates for our 2026 Skilled Trades Summer Internship program. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to learn hands-on techniques, understand industry standards, and gain practical experience alongside skilled professionals. Interns will be exposed to a variety of work processes and participate in real-world manufacturing projects. Interns will be considered for full-time positions upon successful program completion.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist experienced skilled trades teams in a fast-paced advanced steel fabrication environment
  • Gain exposure to structural and precision steel fabrication processes and shop operations
  • Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and in accordance with shop standards
  • Learn proper tools, materials, and safety practices
  • Support ongoing manufacturing projects
  • Attend training sessions focused on fabrication techniques and industry best practices
  • Learn proper material handling, finishing, and quality inspection practices
  • Document work processes and maintain accurate records as required

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Commitment to complying with workplace safety and company policies
  • Strong willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening prior to start date

Nice to have:

  • High School Trade preparatory classes or welding experience
  • Mathematics and/or Drafting classes
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
