Job Description

Fundamentally the role of Goods Yard Technical Operative is to offer support to the Transport Team Leader and goods yard team to ensure all goods are supplied to the factory on time and in full. You will ensure trailers are unloaded efficiently and safely and will be the main point of contact for the Production team for the goods yard staff, setting priorities to ensure they receive their required products on time and in full.

  • Ensure trailers are unloaded efficiently and safely
  • Serve as main point of contact for Production team for goods yard staff, setting priorities
  • Liaise between Logistics leadership team and goods yard staff
  • Liaise directly with production colleagues and allocate workload
  • Support shunter by completing regular trailer checks
  • Communicate with wider Logistics team via handheld radio
  • Assist in unloading trailers using manual pump truck and Counterbalance
  • Adhere to health & safety procedures
  • Adhere to food hygiene procedures
  • Be an advocate for high standard of MHE operation and Health and Safety
  • Comply with and promote Avara Foods policies and procedures
  • Complete electrical checks and report issues
  • Support health and safety controls around site
  • Support control and stock count of loose equipment.

Requirements

  • Valid counterbalance license (desirable)
  • Experienced MHE operator (desirable)
