Job Responsibility:

  • Perform planned and preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and reactive repairs on a fleet of commercial buses
  • Ensure that all vehicle servicing, inspections, and repairs meet Arriva and DVSA standards
  • Assist with MOT preparation, preventative maintenance campaigns, and quality checks
  • Improve bus reliability through continuous monitoring, maintenance, and repair

Requirements:

  • Relevant Qualifications: PSV, HGV, or light vehicle maintenance and repair (minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Full UK Driving License: Must have a valid UK driving license with no more than 6 points
  • PCV License: A PCV license is preferred, or you must be willing to obtain one
  • Medical Fitness: Ability to pass a PCV pre-employment medical
  • Commitment to Quality: A passion for delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality maintenance work

  • Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to Management and work with the operations department to minimise plant disruption
  • Record and identify spare parts that have been used through CMMS and to Engineering Manager
  • Follow good engineering standards and good hygiene practice for the department across the whole site
  • Ensure Maintenance and Engineering practices are audit complaint
  • Ensure all activities are carried out within company and legislative health and safety and environmental guidelines reporting any issues
  • Ensure compliance through regular process weigher and Liquid meter calibrations (weights and measures Act)
  • Proficient in engineering operations whilst working in hazardous environments (Confined Space Entry, Hot working in confined spaces, Hot working, WAH)
